The polls predict a Republican take over of the Senate and the House. The media picks up the scent of blood in the water and howls with delight. A story! Defeat of the ruling party! Drama! Reversal!

Progressive writers chuckle that Obama and the Democrats are getting what they deserve because they haven't aggressively pursued a liberal agenda.

What bulls**t!

Anyone old enough to remember Reagan's California gubernatorial race? Same thing happened. Lots of frustrated liberals said, "Screw everyone. Give them Reagan. See how they like it."

Well, they liked it and we've paid for that stupid point of view ever since.

Now we hear the same thing. "Let the Tea Party have a taste of actually calling the shots and not just ranting on the side lines. Let the Republicans take back the government so people see what fools they are, then the Democrats will sweep in 2012."

Bulls**t!

What Progressives, Liberals, and Democrats of all hues need to do is regard the mid-term election as a call to arms. The Tea Party activists and Republican hierarchy are all too happy to run the bus over all those Democrats who want to lay down in the road.

If you don't think the Republicans aren't serious about doing away with Abortion Rights, Social Security, and Environmental Protections, don't kid yourself. They mean it. They showed what they're made of under Bush. Remember "Healthy Forests"? Now that they've gotten fiscally righteous, they'll cut every social welfare plan they can AND they'll roll back health care reform.

Now's the time to donate as much spare cash as you can to the Democratic Senatorial and Congressional Campaigns. In California donate to Barbara Boxer and Jerry Brown's campaigns.

Now's the time to volunteer as much time as you can manage to beat back the Republicans attempt to roll back the clock.

Anything else is self-indulgent bulls**t.
